Landscaping

Landscaping is required along streets, in planter strips, in residential front yards, and in parking lots, among other places. See the regulations (PDF) for specific requirements.

Recommendations

• Conserve water when possible, through drip irrigation and drought-tolerant plantings
• If you plant a tree in a lawn, leave at least a 3 foot mulch ring around the tree, to protect it from string trimmer damage and decrease competition from the grass for water
