About

The City of Moses Lake created a Civil Service System, which will have rules and/or regulations which substantially accomplish the purpose of RCW Chapters 41.08 and 41.12 concerning among other things but not limited to the selection, appointment, and employment of Fire and Police personnel. The Commission shall be composed of three members, who shall be appointed by the City Manager and who shall serve without compensation. The full term of office for the commission shall be six years. Each member must reside within the corporate limits of the City for at least the three preceding years, be a U.S. citizen, and a registered voter within Grant County.

Role

The Civil Service Commission, upon appointment, qualification, and organization is specifically granted the authority and power in the place and stead of the City Council to adopt and enforce its rules and/or regulations which substantially accomplish the purpose of RCW Chapters 41.08 and 41.12, which is in the best interests of the City.
