Picnic Shelters

Picnic Shelters are no longer reservable for 2021 season. 

The ones in public park areas are still usable on a first-come, first-serve basis until next season.

You can either reserve online or in-person at Parks & Recreation office. Reservations can be made online no less than 7 days in advance; any reservations for week of can only be done in-person at our office and must be no less than 2 days in advance.

Moses Lake Parks & Recreation makes these facilities available for community use when such use is not in conflict with City programs and policies. Such use may be subject to a user fee which is designed to offset the cost associated with the additional usage.

Blue Heron Park

111 Westshore Drive

  • Burress Shelter will accommodate up to 24 people with additional tables outside the shelter area. It has 3 picnic tables outside the shelter area and a barbeque.  
  • Lakeview Shelter will accommodate up to 24 people with additional tables outside the shelter area. It has 3 picnic tables outside the shelter area and a barbeque.  
  • Westlake Shelter will accommodate up to 24 people with additional tables outside the shelter area. It has 3 picnic tables outside the shelter area and a barbeque. 

Each shelter is located within Blue Heron Park, so play equipment, restrooms, swimming area, basketball court, and a boat launch are readily accessible.

Cascade Park

2001 West Valley Road

  • Kiwanis Shelter will accommodate up to 64 people and has 8 picnic tables.  It has a barbecue and play equipment, restroom, boat launch, and shoreline are readily accessible within the park.
  • Lioness Shelter will accommodate up to 48 people and has 6 picnic tables. It has a barbecue and play equipment, restroom, boat launch, and shoreline are readily accessible within the park.

Each shelter is located within Cascade Park, so play equipment, restrooms, swimming area, and a boat launch are readily accessible.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           
Dick Deane family PICNIC SHELTER

800 South Alder Street

Located outside the Japanese Gardens (currently closed for the season), shelter will accommodate up to 72 people and has 9 picnic tables. This shelter has lights that are on a photo cell, a large barbecue, and restroom readily accessible in the Japanese Gardens. 

McCosh Picnic Shelter

401 West 4th Avenue 

Shelter will accommodate up to 64 people and has 8 picnic tables. It has a large barbecue, and both play equipment and restroom are readily accessible. Tennis courts, basketball court, sports court, Skateboard Park, Surf 'n Slide Water Park, and Amphitheatre are located nearby.

Montlake Picnic Shelter

401 Linden Avenue

Shelter accommodates up to 128 people and has 16 picnic tables. It has a large barbecue and play equipment, restrooms, a boat launch and shoreline are readily accessible.
