Yard Waste
Moses Lake is pleased to offer its citizens a way to dispose of their yard waste, without sending it to the landfill: Yard waste collection and composting.

What Can Go In My Yard Waste Cart?
  • Anything that grows in your yard!  Grass clippings, weeds, branches, garden trimmings, leaves...If it grows out of the ground, it can be composted.  No dirt, rocks, or sod.
  • Other plant-based food waste: Apple cores, banana peels, grape stems, cherry pits...any vegetative material in its natural state.  No meat or animal products and no processed food.

Yard waste is picked up on the same day as your garbage:
  • Every week from mid-March through early November
  • The second full week of the month for December, January, and February
  • January pick-up also includes live Christmas trees.  Trees can be placed curbside, not in the cart.  Please cut in half if taller than 6'.
Please have your cart out by 6:00 AM on your designated garbage/recycling/yard waste pick up day.
