Heritage Committee
Help Develop the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center's New Heritage Committee
The Museum Heritage Committee will meet every quarter to identify critical areas of heritage preservation in Moses Lake, defined as program or collection supporting, and threatened or endangered resources.

The purpose of the museum's Heritage Committee is to support preservation of Moses Lake's cultural heritage within and outside the boundaries of the City of Moses Lake.

The Heritage Committee convenes quarterly to:
  • Provide advice and recommendations for the purpose of historical resource development.
  • Identify material and archival resources relevant to the museum's scope of collections.
  • Facilitate donations of new collection items.

Volunteer Opportunities
Heritage Committee participants who register as City of Moses Lake volunteers may also apply to work in these areas:
  • Research information relevant to existing or potential museum collections.
  • Oral history interviews: carrying out the interviews, editing and transcribing the recordings.
  • Numbering, inventorying and photographing the museum collection and new donations.
  • Assisting and advocating at public events.
  • Helping to curate temporary and long-term exhibitions.

Heritage Committee meetings are open to the public. We invite anyone with an interest in preserving Moses Lake history and heritage to attend.
