The Community Development Department is responsible for:

This division regulates all aspects of residential, multi-family, commercial, industrial, and public buildings activity including new and remodeled construction.
This division processes land use actions such as conditional use permits, subdivisions, annexations, and shoreline permits.  This division also performs environmental review under SEPA (State Environmental Policy Act), processes amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, and regulates zoning.
This division ensures that nuisances such as weeds, abandoned vehicles and graffiti are cleaned up.
