When does a plan require an architect's or engineer's stamp?
A design professional's stamp is required for:
1. All buildings more than 4000 square feet, including addition to a building than increases the total floor area above 4000 square feet. Exception: a residential structure of 4 or less dwelling units can exceed the 4000 square foot limit.
2. Building of any size that cannot be reviewed by prescriptive code requirements, such as pole buildings.
