The Columbia Basin Multi-Agency Citizen Academy is set for April 2-May 21. Applications are now being accepted and due by Friday, March 27. You must be at least age 18 to attend.
The Academy gives you a chance to learn how local law enforcement operates and how you can help develop a positive relationship between law enforcement and your community.
Participating agencies are the Moses Lake Police Department, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Ephrata Police Department and Quincy Police Department.
Classes will include: history of law enforcement, use of force, firearms, active shooter, traffic enforcement, accident investigation, gang and drug investigations, neighborhood watch programs, volunteer programs, tour of the local dispatch center, tour of Grant County Jail, Demonstration Day and much more.
Participants meet from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday evenings and from 9 a.m. to noon on two Saturdays at Big Bend Community College’s ATEC Building, 7662 Chanute St. NE, Moses Lake.
