BASKET WEAVING FOR KIDS

Instructor: Dollie Boyd 

 

In this class students will be introduced to the ancient art of basket weaving. Weaving a simple columnar basket, they will learn the plain-weave technique with round reed over an odd number of spokes, using round wood bases with pre- drilled holes. They will learn how to finish their project with a simple round reed border. Basket can be embellished with colorful beads, finished basket measures approximately five inches tall. All materials are supplied. Museum members are eligible for discounts on classes.
