Construction and development in the City of Moses Lake requires contractors to do their projects in a way that does not impact water quality. This means that all projects that disturb the soil need to have erosion and sediment controls that prevent runoff from reaching our stormwater system. Projects with certain characteristics may require special permit coverage.
The City has adopted the most current version of the Stormwater Management Manual for Eastern Washington for design standards of stormwater systems. Additional design information can be found in the City's Community Street & Utility Standards. The City's design storm is the 25-year, 24-hour event.
On-site stormwater system design requires site plan review and additional requirements. Please contact the Building Department at (509) 764-3750 for more information.
